A look at the next update

These pictures show the new notification screens being prepared for the next beta. Your installed version may look different. Recent Ride and the pictured after-ride Help screen are not available in the public beta yet. Check update status →

First, install the app

Open this link on your iPhone.

Apple’s free app lets you install the beta. Already have it? Go to step 2.

Install Bread Crumbs

Come back here. Open our invite, then tap Accept and Install.

STEP 1 OF 8

Get ready

  1. 1Open Settings to enter your own name in Your Name.
  2. 2Open Who will be alerted to connect your people.

Follow the app’s location and notification prompts before your first outing.

Choose your people

  1. 1Green means this person is included in your next ride.
  2. 2Tap Add a person and send them an invitation. They must accept it.

Just me means no automatic guardian alerts. A Safety Link is shared separately.

Start your ride

  1. 1Check your activity, Expected time and people.
  2. 2Tap Start Outing when you are ready.

On later rides, Start Ride can reuse your saved setup. Keep Bread Crumbs available; don’t swipe it away during a ride.

Finish your ride

  1. 1Tap End Trip when you are finished.

Confirm End Outing on the next message. Closing the app does not end the ride.

Follow someone

  1. 1After accepting their invitation, open Watching.
  2. 2Tap their name to open their ride.

To accept: open the invitation they sent you, check the rider’s name, then tap Accept Invite. You don’t need to start your own ride.

If the invitation asks for your name, save it in Settings → Your Name, then reopen the invitation.

STEP 6 OF 8 · COMING NEXT

Open a recent ride

  1. 1Ride ended means this ride is finished.
  2. 2Last known location is an older report, not live GPS.

Coming in the next beta. The latest shared ride will stay available for up to 24 hours after it ends. A newer ride or removed sharing can end access sooner.

Open a Help alert

  1. 1Opened confirms you viewed this Help alert. It does not mean help arrived.

Tap the notification to open that person’s Help requested screen. Call them using your usual phone or messaging app. The pictured after-ride Help view is part of the next update.

Choose which alerts

  1. 1They get alerts about me controls your outgoing alerts.

Tap a person’s name in Alert People. Scroll to I get alerts about them to choose incoming Start and End alerts. Your iPhone’s notification settings control sound and presentation.
